Love Letters by A.R. Gurney

posted Feb 6, 2019, 11:33 AM by Alice Hyatt

Love Letters is a funny and emotional portrait about the powerful connection of love. Having exchanged notes, cards and letters for over 50 years, two friends, rebellious Melissa Gardner and straight-arrow Andrew Makepeace Ladd III, still have a question: Have they made the right choices or is the love of their life only a letter away?

Sunday, March 10th at 3 pm at B'ShERT.  Tickets $20 if purchased by February 21st. $25 thereafter.

Interfaith Remembrance of the Pittsburgh Synagogue Massacre

posted Nov 27, 2018, 4:56 AM by Alice Hyatt

Dear Temple family and friends,
Sh'loshim is the Hebrew word for 30, and in Jewish tradition it refers to the 30 days after the death of a loved one. After Shiva (the first seven days after the death), Sh'loshim is the next stage of mourning our tradition recognizes. This Wednesday, November 28, marks Sh'loshim for the 11 people who died in the Tree of Life Synagogue massacre in Pittsburgh.

To mark this day, we will participate in an interfaith gathering to remember those who died and to reaffirm our solidarity as a Brooklyn community.

Here are the details:

30 DAYS LATER: BROOKLYN STANDS TOGETHER Wednesday, November 28, 2018 | 21 Kislev 5779 | 7:30 to 9 P.M. Union Temple of Brooklyn, 17 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn NY

An interfaith evening of song, comfort, connection,
and building together towards a better world, one month after the massacre at Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

I am planning to participate. If you are available, I hope you will join me.
