House/Building Committee
Chair: Sheldon Greenberg

The House/Building Committee is in charge of the physical plant of our spiritual home. The committee is planning major renovations to the roof and synagogue building. Some other projects include converting to energy efficient lighting, upgrading accessibility for hearing- and mobility-impaired congregants, and improving recycling at the temple.

Finance Committee
Chair: Evelyn Shunaman, Treasurer

The Finance Committee is responsible for the temple's bottom line, maintaining the budget and coming up with creative methods of fund-raising. The Fundraising sub-committee is chaired by Herb Rubenstein.

Membership Committee
Co-Chairs: Ellyn Rothstein and Melissa Scott

The Membership Committee is in charge of attracting new members to the Temple community, maintaining communication among member families, and supervising temple groups, such as the Sisterhood, Chesed, and Inclusion committees. The Sisterhood brings monthly speakers to temple. The Chesed committee stays in touch with and visits those who are ill or homebound. The Inclusion committee works to increase inclusion of people with disabilities in our services, school, and other activities.

Event Programming Committee
Chair: Lori Pandolfo

The Event Programming committee is in charge of the Temple's special events, including Selichot, Shabbat Across America, and the Annual Dinner Dance. The committee also supervises the temple's Tzedakah and Tikkun Olam.

Ritual Committee
Chairs: Robin Bass and Fran Silverman

The Ritual Committee's largest task is planning for the High Holidays, but also works with our clergy throughout the year on all spiritual aspects of the temple, including the temple's congregational choir.

Religious School Committee
Chair: Madelon Jonas

The Religious School Committee works with the religious school parents, teachers, and students on all matters educational. This committee also plans some of the religious holiday events that revolve around the school such as Sukkot, Purim, and Hannukah.

Social Action Committee
Chair: Lauri Bassi

The Social Action committee coordinates Temple's engagement with interfaith organizations, human services groups and other Brooklyn institutions. Through Temple's involvement in social action we live out the ideal of tikkun olam, the repair of the world.

If you are interested in getting involved in a committee, please contact the temple office.
